It’s time to give up the card machine!

Treatment Pay’s payment solutions can create a healthy and clean patient experience.

COVID-19 has forced us all to evaluate social interactions and has raised the importance of washing our hands and sanitizing surfaces to reduce chances of transmission.

According to the Public Health England advice, it may be possible for a person to contract COVID-19 by touching a surface that has the virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. And recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) advised everyone to “use contactless payments to reduce the risk of transmission” of COVID-19.

Once this crisis passes, you’ll find that these processes save time and improve the patient experience while limiting the spread of typical seasonal colds and flu.

Eliminate Physical Card Exchange

A recent study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), published in the Journal of Medicine, found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the name of the virus that causes the disease COVID-19, can survive up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless-steel surfaces.

Passing cards from patients to employees creates a risk for transmission.

With customer-facing devices, such as terminals, the potential risk for picking up germs from the surface is even more heightened.

Encourage the Use of Treatment Pay Contactless Payment Options

Contactless cards are the future, and just like Apple Pay and Google Pay, the Treatment Pay system allows patients to pay quickly and securely with a simple SMS link from our system to a  phone or email, eliminating the need for a terminal and reducing the covid risk.

Contactless mobile payment transactions are estimated to generate over £220 billion in value by 2023. More than 400 million Apple Pay users worldwide are responsible for more than 3 billion transactions in 2019.

Receipts/ Payment confirmation– go digital

If you’re still using a stand-alone payment terminal that prints out paper receipts, and you are passing paper between employees and patients, that’s two more touchpoints that can be removed—again, eliminating the need for a terminal and reducing the covid risk.

With Treatment Pay, the patient will receive a digital confirmation of payment each time a transaction is passed, reducing the need for paper, and creating an easy and straightforward digital experience.
